Originally created for the Dutch Navy, the name Peacoat originated from the word ‘Pije’ which described coats made from coarse wool.
Since the 1800’s the style has been adopted by many of the world’s greatest Naval institutions, due to its hard-wearing nature.
The wool for our peacoat is sourced from the British heritage mill, A W Hainsworth& Sons who have produced quality British fabrics since 1783.
